Rachel began her professional career at 14 when she tapped her way into Bugsy Malone in the West End, with renowned choreographer Gillian Gregory. Following that she trained at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which was a classical theatre drama school, but also known for its singing training and dance! Her career then kicked off with a season at Regents Park Open Air theatre where she performed in 2 shakespeare plays and a musical (where she taught Roy Hudd to tap dance!) This was generally the sign of things to come, as she continued to tour the country in a wide variety of Classical Plays, Musical Theatre, TV, West End Children’s Shows and Physical Theatre. One of her her favourite roles was playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz for 2 years on a number one tour, alongside Brian Blessed, Peter Duncan, and Toyah.
She has been dancing with Drew Wood for the last 15 years, performing alongside him in the live semi-finals of Britains Got Talent with all our other fabulous tappers. She is delighted to be able to take over the reigns from Grand Master Taps (aka Drew) and looks forward to continuing his legacy of superb adult tap in Brighton.
