Classes now finished for summer break.

Dear everyone,

classes have now finished for the summer and will return in September 2016.

There is a new total beginners tap course commencing as well as all the other usual dance classes. Please check the the different pages for information on individual classes and styles.

Thank you again for all your support over the last year, I very look much look forward to seeing you all again in September with some new faces too.

Beginners Tap

LEVEL 1: THE TAP STEPS 

Start Date: Monday 14th January, 2019

Duration: 10 weeks

Day: Monday 8.00 till 9.00 pm

This is for absolute beginners to tap dance and also those who have had little previous alternative dance training.  It is a great place to get to grips with your tap foundation from which your technique will be able to grow.

OR

You feel the next level is getting overwhelming and you want to go back to basics. You are welcome to stay in this level for as long as you like.

We will cover posture, rhythm, foot placement, co-ordination and learn steps such as Taps, Beats, Digs, Springs Shuffles, Paradiddles, Ball Changes and begin short, slow combinations of steps.

Intermediate Tap

LEVEL 3: THE PICK-UPS 

Start Date: Monday, 14th January, 2019

Duration: 10 weeks

Monday: 7.00pm till 8.00pm

Location – Downs Junior School, Location 1

To join the Intermediate class, you know most of the warm up exercises from Level 2 and are ready learn more complex warm up combinations such as Suzie Q’s, corner work and so on, whilst maintaining a fairly steady pace and still reviewing the detail.

OR

You are an experienced tapper who can pick up the warm up exercises “on the hoof” so to speak but needs a little breakdown on each exercise before learning and moving to the next level.

Each week we will review at least one warm up exercise/combo in detail and there will also be dedicated time to learning new steps and routines.

NEW! Semi-Pro Jazz – Class 2 Dates ADDED

Start Date: 3rd November, 2013
Duration: 5 weeks (til 1st Dec, 2013)
Sunday 11.30am –12.45pm
Brighton College – Dance Studio 1: Location 1

This very popular 5-week Jazz course makes its return led by Drew Wood, who has 27 years’ experience in the field as a professional choreographer and teacher.

Some knowledge of either Ballet, Contemporary or Modern Dance is generally needed to feel at ease with this course but even those without formal dance training can have great fun, as shown on previous courses.

The class is very aerobic, with 1 hour 15 minutes of dance to a soundtrack of uplifting music that contributes to its positive and energizing effects.

This course is very popular and early booking is required due to limited spaces being available.
