Tap Spring is in the air…

Adult Dance Brighton is pleased to announce the new Spring Term timetable for 2014 for Tap & Jazz.

In addition to the existing courses, there are two BRAND NEW Total Beginner Tap Courses, of which the first has already sold out. These are on Thursday Evenings at Rox Dance School. There are spaces still available for the 8-9pm course. A minimum of 10 students are required for this course to go ahead. Please contact us as soon as possible to register your interest or to enquire about this or any of the other courses that have spaces available.

NEW! Semi-Pro Jazz – Class 2 Dates ADDED

Start Date: 3rd November, 2013
Duration: 5 weeks (til 1st Dec, 2013)
Sunday 11.30am –12.45pm
Brighton College – Dance Studio 1: Location 1

This very popular 5-week Jazz course makes its return led by Drew Wood, who has 27 years’ experience in the field as a professional choreographer and teacher.

Some knowledge of either Ballet, Contemporary or Modern Dance is generally needed to feel at ease with this course but even those without formal dance training can have great fun, as shown on previous courses.

The class is very aerobic, with 1 hour 15 minutes of dance to a soundtrack of uplifting music that contributes to its positive and energizing effects.

This course is very popular and early booking is required due to limited spaces being available.

Jazz Dance

JAZZ DANCE 

Start Date: Monday, 8th May, 2017

Duration: 5 weeks
Monday 7.30pm – 8.30pm

Location – Downs Junior School, Location 1

The new 5 week Jazz class make a return for another course, led by Alice Redmond, who has many years’ experience in the field as dancer and has recently been seen in Cats.

A small knowledge of dance is needed to feel at ease with this course, or if not, just a great willingness to learn. The class is very aerobic, with 1 hour of dance to a soundtrack of uplifting music that contributes to its positive and energising effects.

Dance Center – Dance Studio 2 Brighton College: Location 2

 

Location 2Dance Center – Brighton College – Dance Studio 2: Located in a beautiful converted old church with spectacular high ceilings, on the corner of Montague Place & St. George’s Terrace, Kemptown. This studio theatre has a Harlequin sprung floor, lighting bars and a fully equipped sound system and measures 10.5 metres by 11.5 metres approximately.

Dance Center – Dance Studio 1 Brighton College: Location 1


Location 1Dance Center – Brighton College – Dance Studio 1: Located inside the grounds of Brighton College, one of the city’s key landmark buildings, easily found on Eastern Road in the Kemptown area of the city. Built in April 2000 the studio is approximately 10 metres by 11 metres, has wooden sprung floors, barres and mirrors. It benefits from an installed stereo system with mini disc, CD, tape and DVD players and a tuned piano. The studio has a contemporary, spacious feel, with a high ceiling and automatic ventilation. Protective Harlequin flooring is permanently laid to protect the dance floor.

Intermediate/Advanced Tap Drop-In

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED TAP DANCE ~ DROP-IN

Unfortunately, this class is on hold until Tuesday 6th June, 2017, please take a look at joining the Wednesday 7.00pm Intermediate class until then.

Location – Downs Junior School, Location 1

If you already have a sound knowledge of tap dance and maybe are looking for a more challenging class that retains the element of fun, do come and try out the Taptastik Intermediate/Advanced classes.

The classes run by Adult Dance Brighton are suitable for all ages and will give you a lot more than a spring to your steps. There is a very sociable ambiance and the eclectic range of music adds to the varied nature of the tap lessons.

This class is the only weekly drop-in provided by Adult Dance Brighton. If you have any questions please email Drew.
